Buying into the Propaganda: You do it More than You Would Like to Know

A Flock of SheepThese days, life is filled with “what they’d like you to believe.”

“They” comprise a wide range of individuals, organizations, and “experts.” All with their own goals, beliefs, and stubborn mental processes.

They want their agenda to succeed, which entails getting you on board (whether you know it or not).

Now, you might be saying that you know their game. You’ve seen the signs, you know when they’re trying to play you. The propaganda is easy to see, you say.

But you’d be wrong.

There’s more that you haven’t seen. In fact, you blindly fall in line. You advocate for it, defend it, and even tell your friends about its perceived benefits.

For all intents and purposes, you’re a sheep, following the shepherd.

…And the shepherd ain’t Jesus.

The shepherd can be a lot of things.

It can be your doctor, your teacher, or even your mom (God forbid).

The shepherd can be a politician, or the whole government.

In some cases, it can be so vast that the only label you have for it is “the status quo.”

Yep, that’s right. The status quo is that supposedly benevolent, almighty, all-knowing being that everyone thinks has their best intentions at heart. Knows what’s best. And works just fine.

The status quo pushes out propaganda like Obama speaks lies.

You can see the propaganda in the college arena. Sorry folks, but college isn’t a “get successful immediately” card. If you expect to be successful because you went (or, are going) to college then you’ve drunk the Kool-Aid.

The education world is bursting with propaganda. Much of it you’ve bought into. Public schools are a good thing? Please, it’s a Communist’s dream come true.

Get a balanced education? Nothing says mediocrity like being “balanced” in your education.

Homeschooling can be harmful to children? Get real (and stop downing the Kool-Aid like an alcoholic)!

What about these pieces of propaganda that you buy into?

The doctor knows best?

You have to get a regular 9 to 5 job to be successful?

You have to know about actors, actresses, pop culture, sports, etc? Nothing like superficial knowledge to waste your time on.

And it could go on, and on…

The list is so long and complex that it’d take me weeks to list them all. I’m not here to give you a rundown of every myth, lie, deception, or piece of junk that’s hidden from your eyes.

It’s up to you to find those. And, you can only do that by openly questioning, criticizing, and pushing back on what “everyone” does, says, or values. That’s the key to not falling into the trap laid by those in power.

Remember, they want to advance their own agenda. You buying into that agenda is vital to the system running smoothly. You buying into their agenda makes you a follower. Nobody needs to worry about a follower causing problems.

Followers breed tyranny and complacency. Patriots, on the other hand, breed personal responsibility, Freedom, and individualism. (Click to tweet)

Patriots openly question the status quo. They make their own decisions. They lead their life. They’re not lead by someone else. They’re not herd followers. (Click to tweet)

How can You Live this?

That’s simple… question everything. Especially if it’s what the majority does, says, or believes. Use reason and logic to separate the herd mentality from the things you should be doing and accepting.

For example, Freedom is a commonly held view, but it’s an acceptable one. Many beliefs held by the majority are right, many are not. It’s up to you to decipher which ones are which.

All it comes down to is personal responsibility. And with personal responsibility comes thinking for yourself. That, my friend, is the key to discerning the propaganda that’s right in front of your eyes.
